Ward Lemmelijn played soccer at the highest level with Roda JC and Visé until he was 18 years old. When he noticed that he just fell short of the absolute world top, he decided to study after all. At the PXL Hogeschool in Hasselt, they discovered his natural talent for indoor rowing. Four world titles on the ergometer later, Ward has only one goal: the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.
